Mary Poppins JR.

July 13 - 14, 2019

Pippin Square.jpg

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

Performers, artists, and aspiring technicians ages 8-17 all work together towards a common goal – a fully produced musical presented at the end of each Camp ENCORE session! A partnership between Prescott Park Arts Festival and Upside Arts, Camp ENCORE! nurtures self-confidence and creativity of each camper through singing, dancing, acting, visual arts, and technical theater while rehearsing a fully produced show.

Mary Poppins JR. runs July 13th-14th at Prescott Park Arts Festival (105 Marcy St, Portsmouth, NH 03801). Showtimes are Saturday and Sunday at 10am. Performances are by donation, with table and blanket reservations available for an additional fee.
